About Sonya

Understanding before judgment. Safety before change.

Sonya’s work begins with a simple premise: people are not broken. Protective responses can be understood, worked with safely, and met with tools that expand access, choice, and agency.

Professional approach

Warm, structured, and non-pathologizing.

Sonya facilitates individual and group experiences focused on emotional regulation, stress reduction, anxiety management, recovery-oriented personal growth, and sustainable behavioral change.

Her earlier training in architectural engineering shaped the way she sees patterns: a complex system becomes more usable when its parts, feedback loops, and points of leverage can be understood. She brings that same systems-minded curiosity to human behavior while keeping the person—not the theory—at the center.

Sessions may draw on hypnosis, guided imagery, mindfulness, breathwork, EFT, grounding, self-hypnosis, and present-focused somatic practices. Every exercise remains voluntary and can be modified or stopped.

Why understanding comes first

Judgment narrows. Understanding creates room.

Understanding a response does not remove responsibility. It reveals the conditions that shaped the response, so less energy is spent on self-attack and more becomes available for an honest next choice.

01

Notice the logic

Ask what the system may have learned, protected, or repeated.

02

Reduce the judgment

Replace the defect story with accurate, usable information.

03

Restore choice

Test a reachable input and learn from what actually changes.
